De la CBX à la CBXtrème ; les métamorphoses d’une légende » par le CBX CLUB DE FRANCE

Description

A mythical motorcycle if ever there was one, the Honda 1000 CBX built its image and legend on the architecture of its 6-cylinder engine. Yet it was produced for only 4 years, and in two very different versions. The first generation (Z & A series from 1978 to 1980), then the second (Prolink B & C between 1981 and 1982) shared this famous engine, which was unanimously acclaimed. Cycle parts, on the other hand, were more subject to criticism, due to perfectible handling. It's hardly surprising, then, that mechanically-savvy individuals chose to adapt modern running gear to the original frame. Professionals too. Georges Martin, for example, offered complete cycle parts to make the most of the fabulous in-line six-cylinder. The latter, brilliant as it is, has also had its “improvements”, such as fuel injection. For the 2025 edition of the Salon du 2 Roues, the CBX Club has chosen to showcase these reworked machines. The theme of the stand will therefore be “From the CBX to the CBXtreme; the metamorphoses of a legend”.
