10 ANS D’EWC PAR WBD SPORTS
1B015
Description
In 2015 the FIM Endurance World Championship consisted of four great events but needed
a global promoter with the fire to unleash its true potential and take it to the next level.
Handed a long-term agreement by Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme to promote
the EWC, Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports rose to the challenge and got to work,
transforming the championship with an unrivalled live TV product and much more besides.
In the 10 seasons that have followed, some of the international motorcycle racing’s best
outfits have won the coveted FIM Endurance World Championship. To highlight those
champions and to reignite a decade of great memories, WBD Sports is proud to partner with
Salon du 2 Roues for a not-to-be-missed display celebrating the 10 champions of the EWC’s
modern era.
Ten motorcycles that have made recent EWC history will be on show together with racing
leathers and crash helmets of some of the championship-winning riders. EWC champions
will be in attendance, while visitors will also be able to watch some of the most memorable
EWC moments from 2015 onwards.
Since the green flag waved to start the 24 Heures Motos on 18 April 2015, riders and teams
from across the globe have delivered some truly unmissable EWC action by day and by
night. Ten venues in eight countries have hosted the 43 EWC races run since the WBD
Sports’ era began, including the four legendary circuits included on the 2025 calendar: Le
Mans, Spa, Suzuka and Paul Ricard.
But the battle for EWC glory has also been fought out on other famous layouts, such as
Estoril in Portugal, Oschersleben in Germany and Sepang in Malaysia.
It’s also been super-dramatic: after 12 hours of racing at Portimão in 2016, GMT94 Yamaha
edged SERT to victory by 0.081s. And it was even closer in the 6 Hours of Most in 2021 when
BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team triumphed ahead of YART – Yamaha Official Team
EWC by 0.070s.
Along with Sepang in Malaysia and Slovakia Ring, Czech circuit Most staged races for two
and four wheels with the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup also featured at those venues
as part of WBD Sports’ motorsport events portfolio.
All part of an exciting decade for the EWC.
Join us at stand 1B015 to celebrate 10 years of unforgettable endurance racing, as we
